Why are there so many TCPv6 sockets?
I have a server with two interfaces on it, one static and the other one IPv6. The IPv6 one has three sockets set up for TCPv6. For some reason, I need to keep one of them. I have to mention that I’m not the only one who needs to use this server, I can’t just ignore it.
Why are there two sockets for the exact same thing?
The environment: Windows 2003 R2, Windows 7, both 32 bit.
This is the info on my server:
Status: Enabled
IP-Address: [2001:0DB8:0899:0E8AA:0B0:0CC2:0000/64]
Global IPv6 Address: [fd03:9300::2]
Global IPv6 Address (Router): [2001:0DB8:0CE4:0F93:CAFF:E029:D47D/128]
A:
The IPv6 address depends on your global scope. For example, an IPv4 address of 2001:0DB8:0899:0E8AA:0B0:0CC2:0000/64 indicates that the host can talk to the following hosts:
2001:0DB
